This is the newest facial filler to hit the US markets. It was approved by the FDA in October 2013. Voluma is a Hylauronic Acid filler that is used to create a smoother contour to your mid face giving you a more youthful and natural appearance. RR Aesthetics is one of the 1st offices in Beverly Hills to start offering this new filler. Voluma is a bit different then your typical Hylauronic Acid. Voluma is injected using a different concept when it comes to facial fillers. It is placed in the mid face to help support areas of volume loss and to restore facial contours that have diminished due to age. By supporting the mid-face you can also see improvements that can take place in the lower face and jaw line. It helps to “lift” without the need for surgery.
Juvéderm, a company owned by the makers of Botox, has just launched a new filler created specifically for the lips called Juvéderm Volbella. As with other Juvéderm fillers, Volbella is a hyaluronic acid-based gel enhanced with painkilling Lidocaine. What makes this filler unique is its patented Vycross technology which, through more efficient crosslinking, produces greater lift capacity and longer lasting results. In fact, a company-led study found that over 90% of test patients reported natural looking lips with more than 80% of them still satisfied with their results after one year. Having such a high satisfactory rate after such a long period of time is something to smile about: Previous lip fillers typically last up to 6 months, before your body breaks it up, leaving you with a deflated pout. Additionally, Volbella is a softer, smoother gel that allows for easier injection. Its lower HA concentration also means that it is less hydrophilic (less likely to absorb water) resulting in reduced swelling and a more natural result.
Vollure was approved by the FDA for improvement in wrinkles and lines for up to 18 months. At the 18-month mark, approximately 68% of patients in the study were still very satisfied with their results. Juvederm Vollure XC is an injectable Hylauronic Acid filler used to soften lines and wrinkles due to the aging process. Vollure was approved in Europe under the name Volift and in March of 2017 was approved in the US, switching the name to Vollure. Juvederm Vollure XC is used to treat moderate to severe lines in the lower face. Specifically, oral commissures, nasal labial folds and marionette lines.
What is the similarities and differences between Vollure, Volbella and Voluma?
Vollure, Volbella and Voluma are similar and different in many ways. They all belong to the Juvederm family of products and are Hylauronic Acid Fillers. They all use the Vycross technology that gives them longer duration then some of the other fillers on the market. What makes them different is the make-up of the product. Voluma, Vollure and Volbella each contain different amounts of the HA. Vollure falls right in the middle containing 17.5 mg/ml of HA. Voluma containing 20 mg/ml of HA and Volbella containing 15mg/ml.
